Calorie Rankings is committed to minimizing the data we collect about visitors. This page describes our current practices as of May 17, 2026.
What we collect
- Server logs — standard web-server request logs (IP, user-agent, requested URL, timestamp) for security and operational debugging. Retained for 30 days.
- Aggregated analytics — page-view counts at the URL level via a privacy-respecting analytics tool (no cross-site tracking, no third-party cookies). No individual visitor profiles are constructed.
- Email correspondence — if you email editors@calorierankings.com, we retain the correspondence for the purposes of responding and for any future follow-up. We do not add email addresses to marketing lists.
What we don't collect
- Personally identifiable analytics — no individual visitor profiles
- Cross-site tracking cookies — none on this site
- Third-party advertising trackers — we don't run ads
- Affiliate tracking pixels — see our no-affiliate disclosure
- Newsletter signup data (no newsletter yet)
Cookies
Calorie Rankings does not set tracking cookies. The site may use functional cookies for preference persistence (e.g., dark/light mode if implemented in the future); these are first-party and do not transmit data to third parties.
Third-party services
- Cloudflare — DNS and CDN. Cloudflare's logs include request metadata per their policies.
- Google Fonts — we load fonts from Google. Google receives the requesting IP address per their privacy policy. We may move to self-hosted fonts in the future.
Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (GDPR, CCPA, etc.), you may have rights to access, correct, or
delete data we hold about you. Email editors@calorierankings.com
with subject [PRIVACY REQUEST] and we'll respond within 30 days.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page when our practices change. Material changes will be noted with a revision date.
